Official Plan Policies on
Housing
Official Plan
(This plan is under review)
Chapter twelve of the City of London Official Plan contains
policies relating to the provision of an adequate supply of
affordable housing to meet the broader needs of the community. The
policies further require a minimum ten year supply of land to
accommodate residential development at a range of densities and
building types.
In particular, policies contained in chapter twelve require
that at least 30 per cent of all new residential development be
affordable to households at the 60th percentile of income
distribution for the London Census Metropolitan Area. Further, in
accordance with provincial policy statements, no less than half of
affordable new residential development must be affordable to
households at the 30th percentile of income distribution for the
London CMA.
